Abstract

A report is prepared to highlight the many ways road engineers can make streets and highways safer. The report discusses the practices common in Canada in 1973 and recommends how safety can be promoted through using the best know techniques of road design and traffic operations. Details of the relationships of roadway elements and traffic operations to highway safety are presented.
