Abstract

Bicycle safety education is discussed as part of a safety program of the American Automobile Association. It includes a bicycle proficiency Course to teach safety through performance skill to such groups as Boy and Girl Scouts, YWCA, church groups, schools, and mixed groups of adults and children. A bicycle touring program designed with an emphasis on service and employment, and offered to parents, was added. The importance of reaching the young cyclist, aged 5 to 15, and his parents is stressed.
