Abstract

A study was made of the safety effects of two Georgia laws: a 65 mph speed limit which became effective February 19, 1988, and a mandatory seat belt law which became effective September 1, 1988. This research revealed both a deleterious effect of the 65 mph limit and some benefits of the seat belt law.
