Abstract
The situation regarding bus and coach safety in relation to other modes of transport in Europe, mainly Britain and the Federal Republic of Germany, is described. Despite the high safety standard of the bus and coach as a means of passenger transport, there is room for improvement, especially in terms of structural stability of the vehicle in case of roll-over accidents.
