Abstract

In this study, the safety performance of a VII driving assistance system has been evaluated using a microscopic traffic simulator. A VII driving assistance system model (collision warning) is implemented for a microscopictraffic simulator. Then, its safety performance is evaluated with respectto its penetration rate. The safety performance of the VII system is compared to that of a sensor-based autonomous system and an inter-vehicle communication-based vehicle cooperative system. Then, it has been proved that the safety performance of a VII system is superior to other systems.
