Abstract

The working group to investigate and report on road and railway crossing safety for seniors presents here a summary of recommendations.The most important ones are that: Alternative treatment to zebra marked crossings on major roads be actively investigated; concrete /painted median islands be provided on major roads; traffic management schemes using traffic engineering devices to reduce vehicle speeds in local streets be supported.
