Abstract

The technical results of a study to design an experiment which relates the presence of a federally recommended periodic motor vehicle inspection system to accident, fatality, injury, and property damage level, are presented. The experiment developed considers exogenous variables and control variables as well as the principal comparison of interest, PMVI vs. no PMVI. The experiment is statistically valid if followed as prescribed.
