Abstract
Summaries of 189 heavy truck accident investigations are presented. Among the driver- related issues discussed are duty hours /fatigue, training /experience, alcohol /drugs, and driving records. Also discussed are motor carrier oversight of the operational safety of the truck driver. Other factors discussed include hazardous materials, double trailers, grade crossings, and crashworthiness.
