Abstract

A special accident investigation at passenger /commuter train and motor vehicle collisions at grade crossings was undertaken The study addresses the results of investigations into 75 collisions. Safety issues discussed are grade crossings characteristics, drivers behaviour ineffectiveness of audible warning systems, alcohol use by car drivers and additional warning signs.
