Abstract
The aim of this project was to develop a model for describing risks to pedestrians and cyclists under varying environmental conditions in urban traffic, at varying exposure to car traffic. Conclusions are a.o.: pedestrian and cyclist risks increase with speedstandard and road width; pedestrian risks decrease in high-speed intersections with traffic islands; pedestrian risks are minimized by locating zebracrossings less than 2 meters or more than 10 meters from intersections.
