Abstract

This paper shows saturation flow rate research results based upon signalized intersections in 17 Yugoslav towns of different size. Research exemplified that saturation flow rates are affected vastly by town size, drivers' behaviour, phasing arrangement and factors which result from conflict traffic flow at signalized intersections, instead of being affected by the geometric elements of signalized intersections. The research results were a basis for proposing a model for the capacity of signalized intersections. (A)
