Abstract

A study hour made to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Holland during April 1981 found numerous examples of interesting and effective initiatives in the field of childhood accident prevention. Whilst these countries would appear to have made greater progress than Britain in specific areas like pedestrian and cycle safety, use of child restraints in motor cars, reductions in poisoning and burns and in several types of home accidents, overall Britain has also made steady progress, but further research is wanted.
