Abstract

Teleworking is any form of substitution of information technologies (such as telecommunications and computers) for work-related travel. The basic concepts of telework are presented. Insight into the context of telework enables a better view of future development. The forces that are driving people to telework are discussed. The evolution of organizations towards smaller entities and telework are described. Some forecasts for the various forms of telework until 2030 are presented. (A)
