Abstract

This paper focuses on how the "chipcard" can be implemented in the future to enable the realization of policy objectives for traffic and transport in the areas of accessibility, and living with traffic. In this respect, the "chipcard" is seen as an integrated transport key: a facilitative aid which simplifies the use of more than one transport mode in a trip chain. Four scenarios have been developed around a reference scenario. The paper deals with the traffic and transport system in 2015, both in the reference scenario and the policy scenarios. After this, influencing factors and the role of the ("chipcard") technology are discussed. Finally, transport performance and the various policy options which have been identified are considered. At each phase, a distinction is made between the developed scenarios.
