Abstract
After an introduction on the scarcity of space and natural scenery a description of the problematic of raw- and waste materials is given. Energy problems in relation to traffic fuel consumption and energy content of pavement constructions are outlined. It is stressed that more than ever variables for pavement constructions and choice of materials will be scanned, with the economic criterion as standard. Pavement management and maintenance management with small budgets is discussed. A list of theses is included.
