Abstract

Rates and types of school bus accidents according to the age of the school bus driver were examined. 16-years-old bus drivers experienced a higher accident rate on a mileage basis than any other age group. The rate improved significantly for 17, 18, and 19 years old drivers. The 25 through 54-years-old drivers had the safest rates.
