Abstract

The purpose of the project was to develop guidelines for the protection of young pedestrians (5- 14 years) walking to and from school, entering and leaving buses, and at neighbourhood play. Volume I summarises the entire project, providing an overview of the other volumes. Research findings indicate that young school children (5-9 years) are over involved in pedestrian accidents and are unaware of various traffic control devices.
