This report is based upon discussions at the 4th Annual Meeting of the Working Group on DWI System Improvements, held at the Kingsmill Resort and Spa, Williamsburg, Virginia, March 4-6, 2007. It seeks to inform justice professionals and policy makers about the importance of screening, assessment and treatment of DWI offenders, examines the strengths and limitations of the process and issues related to it, and identifies a number of priority recommendations for improving the application of quality screening, assessment and treatment to DWI offenders.
