Abstract

This study supports the earlier Cornell ACIR findings indicating that; 1) lop belts can reduce serious injuries by about 36 percent. 2) the reduction in fatalities is even greater. 3) the benefits are largely related to ejection control. 4) benefits in frontal impacts are greatly limited.
