Abstract

The use of variaats of the traffic conflict techniques asan operational Cool in assessing deficiencies of existingread traffic layouts was the main theine of the orkshop.Little attention has been paid to validation in terms ofconflict measurement as a predictor of expected number ofaccidents. A plea is made for wider publication of theresults in general literature; many traffic engineers andscientists do net know of this werk, and will net unlessit is carefully described in the literature.
