Seeing and the degree of glare

Abstract

For a normal eye there is a functional connection between the pupil diameter and the luminance of the field of view. The degree of glare is indicated by how much the flux received at the retina from a given working area is reduced consequent on the reduction in pupil diameter when glare sources are introduced into this field of view.
