Abstract
Improvement of highway lighting causes decrement of accidents at night. This article gives a review of investigations and studies in this field. A description is given of some instruments for improved measurements of visibility. A laboratory test model highway was employed in studies of fundamentals of highway illumination. A review of researches in automobile headlight is given.
