Abstract

Two visual search experiments investigated the possibility of preattentive selection between stimulus dimensions. A previous study suggested that search could be directed selectively to task relevant stimulus dimensions (color and form) even when search was performed preattentively spatially in parallel. The present study followed up on this finding and investigated selectivity between the color and intensity dimensions.
