Abstract

A description is presented of a semi-passive seat belt system which was developed during a program aimed at producing a seat belt which was simple for the occupant to use and which met some proposed amendments of the passive occupant restraint requirements. A system of electrical interlocks is utilized in order to achieve an improved wearing rate.
