Abstract

The properties of designing a demand-actuated transportation system by a simulation model are discussed in general terms, and more specifically two models developed by General Motors and by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Reports on simulation models should describe their sensitivity to changes in assumptions or data; their validity the degree and nature of testing, and the decision making structure of the models. The control system with the M.I.T. computer is almost operational.
