Abstract

The impact of properties and performance of demand bus systems on both users and non-users are discussed by the panel,. As non-users are regarded: government, transport companies, and the community (neighbourhood attitude, effect on motorway congestion, land value and land development). Existing regulations and government bodies appear to impede the emergence of flexible and new transport. From the user's viewpoint the relation between usage and demand, and between fare and time are discussed.
