Abstract

When a collision occurs between a car and a pedestrian, the victim undergoes multiple impacts against the car before striking the ground. Any study of such collisions must provide a precise answer to the primary question which arises, namely: which of these two types of impact results in the most severe injuries. Accident data are examined and the results are discussed.
