Abstract

This paper describes the method used in a computer program to plot future trends of annual average daily traffic volume (AADT) recorded at permanent traffic counting stations operated by the Department of Main Roads (DMR), New South Wales. The program fits six different mathematical models to the observed AADT data. The models used range from a simple linear curve to Gompertz and Logistic curves which cater for traffic growth under capacity constraint.
