Abstract

It is tried to show that between elements of alignment and accident frequency-expressed by accident rates- functional dependences exist. From this hypothesis ways are presented to come to a maximum allowable danger-expressed by an allowable accident rate- from expected danger by alignment. Recommendations for highway design, layout, degree of curvature of bends and alignment are discussed.
