Abstract

A summary of the book "Sick and handicapped drivers" in which results are given of studies about acute diseases, chronic diseases, physical disabilities, and high age as causes of accidents is-presented. No differences are found in accident and offence pattern between sick and handicapped persons and a control group. However, significant differences were found for road users over 58 years of age, who were compared during the first two years and during the next four years after the passing of the driving test with two lower age groups.
