Abstract

The obstruction of sight distance at urban intersections by physical objects on private property has been a problem as long as there have been intersections. Current practices in state, county, and city governments are surveyed and a methodology for dealing with specific cases of sight distance obstruction is suggested. Sample letters, a model ordinance, and other supportive elements are described.
