Abstract

As part of the research programme of the RRL, the sight distance was measured on a sample of 6 rural trunk roads in England and Wales and it was found that for these roads the standard of sight distance was lower than that recommended for new roads. This article describes the methods used to choose the sites and to make the measurements and briefly discuss the results.
