Abstract

Results are presented of computer simulation runs designed to test the performance of cable barrier systems. Simulation runs were made on two cable barrier systems of different total length. Runs were made on a level road surface and on a surface with a steep backslope behind the barrier. The results of these runs should aid in assessing the effects of impact conditions, length of barrier, and sloping road surface on the performance of cable barrier systems.
