Abstract

Most highway injuries are sustained as a result of the occurrence of crash conditions. The definition of crash conditions however, would seem to include a great variety of situations because the possible combinations of accident types and vehicle types and sizes. This is a serious problem for the accident investigator; to simulate all accident conditions in a running research program would require almost unlimited research facilities.
