Abstract

The Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) in Melbourne, Australia, recently completed a program of simulator research which culminated in the development of a CD-ROM based training product for accelerating in young novice drivers the development of certain perceptual and cognitive skills which are known to moderate their crash involvement. The CD-ROM is currently being evaluated by MUARC. This paper describes the CD-ROM product and the simulator-based evaluation which is currently in progress.
