The single lane merging problem with mixed cars and trucks.

Abstract

The author considers the merging problem for a main stream of traffic with a small admixture of trucks which generate following queues. It is shown that under conditions of poor pussing the delay due to travelling queues can be several times that experienced with homogeneous traffic alone.
