Abstract

This third deliverable from the on-site tutoring and enforcement part within the DETER project describes the field study which is now carried out in the vicinity of Oslo in Norway. Based on the considerations in deliverable 3, workpackage 1200 of the DETER project a concrete design for the testing of collective feedback, alone as well as in combination with enforcement has been developed. At one test-bed consisting of a motorway with a speed limit of 90 km/h the feedback sign will be tested alone. At another test-bed where the speed limit is 70 km/h the feedback sign will also be tested in combination with semi-automatic speed detection. The proposed on-site system will be used to test the effect of the collective feedback signs as well as the applicability of such systems. An extended literature review gives an overview of past research in this field. The deliverable gives an overview of the equipment in use and a detailed description of the data to be collected and the experiments to be carried out. One of the described test-beds is also used for the planned study on road user acceptance.
