Abstract

A skid simulator developed to provide a laboratory model of a skidding automobile for use in driver training and research is described. The model allows the driver to experience the yaw motions of a skidding vehicle and affords him the opportunity to control the skid through application of the brake pedal, accelerator, and the steering wheel.
