Abstract

This paper gives a review of research carried out in England in the field of skidding. It describes Carly methods of measuring slipperiness, experiments on skidding resistance of a range of bituminous materials, further it describes studies of the relationship between polishing of aggregates and resistance to skidding, the effect of texture depth, the polished stone value test and material requirements.
