To assist the City of Truro in the development of strategies to manage the growth that is expected over the next few decades, a model was developedwith a particular focus on the transferability of data from existing models and sources. The model also focussed on the importance of parking and the difficulties associated with modelling it correctly and in particular the impact of park and ride on the demand for parking in the city centre. The article describes in detail how the model works and extension of the model; and explains its use to test parking policy interventions and test the effect of transport schemes on parking.
