Abstract
The report mainly deals with the applied research methodology, it is recommended that the Dutch roads should be classified into a limited number of, for road users clearly recognizable, categories. Speed limits linked to the type of road can only exercise a positive influence on traffic safety when some specified conditions are fulfilled.
