Abstract

The Netherlands has an elaborate system of rural public transport. The level of service of each line is regularly adapted on rising or sinking passenger numbers according to national standards. The application of these standards enhances a steady growth of strong connections and a steady decline of weaker ones. In 1981 the standards are applicated somewhat more strictly for reasons of economy. The results of this more strictly application are presented.
