Abstract

A survey into alternatives for limiting personal mobility is presented. The survey was mainly carried out with interviews. Interviews were held in a shopping centre, a hospital, a trade-fair, and a football stadion. Questions were on the willingness to change transport modes and to limit their social mobility. Car pooling, public transport, or organised public transport (special hired busses for a special occasion such as from the railway station to the football stadion) were the options. It is only possible to motivate the people not to sit alone in the car by more publicity campaigns, stimulation of car pooling and a better public transport system.
