Abstract

The report of the workshop which identified, reviewed and evaluated the important relations between the amounts and distribution of travel and the social, economic and environmental impacts of transportation facilities and systems, is given. The complex nature of the issues involved in transportation planning are discussed, as is also, the need for comprehensiveness, timeless, credibility and reliability. The social, economic and environmental impacts that need to be addressed are listed and discussed in outline.
