Abstract

A network of management centres has been designed for the implementation of the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system known as OGS in Turkey. These centres are placed one in each toll station, one in each highway control centre and one in the main control centre. The systems communicate with each other through standard telephone lines. Each system is autonomous (one stays functional independently of the other one working or not), with its own relational database and reporting utilities. In this article, the aim is to briefly expose the software solution and some of the challenges associated with it. (A*)
