Abstract
This Transportation Research Record contains 26 papers on soil mechanics. The papers are organized according to the following topics: (1) Cementitious, chemical, and mechanical stabilization; (2) Design of foundations and structures; (3) Pavement: subsurface drainage and reliability in design and performance; and (4) Geotechnical engineering: compaction, nontraditional computing methods, and other issues.
