Abstract

The broad coverage of soil subjects in this record provides information on behaviour of soils in response to frost action, thereby presenting a survey of criteria used to identify frost-susceptible materials. Identification is necessary whether the materials are to be removed or covered. In the study of soil moisture suctions, the papers show how saturation, dry density, and stress history affect the soil suction characteristics.
