Abstract

The author proposes first, to review some of the elementary facts of stereoscopic depth perception, emphasizing the results of those experiments tending to demonstrate that the phenomenon has a physiologic basis; second, to review some of the hypotheses that have been offered to account for stereoscopic depth perception; and finally, to point out a few of the many problems that are still to be resolved.
