Some aspects of urban road network design.

Abstract

The paper describes a number of separate investigations, largely of a theoretical nature, into general principles, of urban road network design. The subjects covered include a comparison between 2-lane and 3-lane motorways, optimum bus services, motorway networks, distances by road, route-crossings position of a ringroad, road pricing and cost-benefit analysis.
