Abstract

Details are given of braking tests carried out on different surfaces with a view to determining stopping distance, deceleration speed, and the desirable sensitivity for power assisted brakes. Average drivers consistently stop in shorter distances when their cars require significant brake pedal force than with very sensitive power brakes.
